The policy of imposing onerous rules and offering incentives to politicians (bribing them) to enshrine these rules into laws is starting to show results. One of the countries to achieve a nearly perfect ESG score of 98.1 according to World Economics Research is Sri Lanka!
Yay, let's all be just like Sri Lanka, oh wait!
It has been clear to me for a long time that part of the new world agenda is to decimate small business owners including fairly large operations than don't toe the ESG Line. Despite the abysmal results of the Green policies in Sri Lanka, now Canada, Netherlands and other MUCH larger agricultural producing countries are purposely sacrificing their farmers on the ESG altar even though they are all facing MAJOR FOOD SHORTAGES.
How much does one need to believe in the Green Agenda to risk starvation? Let's ask the folks in Sri Lanka shall we??
I support activities that show good stewardship towards the environment and companies who display the ingenuity required to produce a healthy bottom line without destroying the environment should be rewarded.
That's not what this is though - ESG ratings are now voluntary but they will soon become mandatory in many jurisdictions like California where 70,000 independent truckers are about to go out of business due to new "environmental laws". These laws sound virtuous like "we're all in this together protecting the planet man!"
Don't be fooled, this is a weapon which is already being used to hurt businesses who don't comply.
Last week I talked about the migration from and to different states which is happening at an unprecedented rate:
"Forty-six million people moved to a different ZIP Code in the year through February 2022, the most in any 12-month period in records going back to 2010, according to a Moody’s analysis of Equifax Inc. consumer-credit reports."
The Green Agenda rules will accelerate this trend even further as companies seek out jurisdictions compatible with their models.
Over the next coming months and years I truly believe that we will all see previously unimaginable changes - thankfully there is a growing resistance to the imposition of rules which ruin business models in the name of virtuous sounding objectives but really only serve to decimate the living standards of business owners and their customers.
